Managed IT & Production Print for Publishing & Creative

Publishers, studios and agencies live and breathe deadlines, large files and colour accuracy. We bring together Canon production print, fast reliable IT and secure storage so your creative work flows from concept to finished output.

The challenge

Where colour, speed and reliability matter

Creative and publishing teams push hardware and networks hard, with multi-gigabyte files, Mac-heavy estates, demanding deadlines and uncompromising colour standards. Most IT providers can offer none of that world; we live in it. As a Canon Platinum Partner running Fogra-certified imagePRESS production presses, we are one partner from calibrated screen to certified sheet.

The pressures we plan around

“Our IT company doesn’t really do Macs”

You should never hear “you have a Mac...?” from your helpdesk. We manage Macs natively through Apple Business Manager and MDM, so a new starter’s MacBook arrives zero-touch enrolled, encrypted and ready, alongside the Windows estate.

The server crawls on artwork day

A layered PSD can hit two gigabytes, and a whole studio hitting shared storage at deadline will choke an ordinary network. We build tiered storage with fast NAS, SSD caching and 10GbE where it earns its keep, so big files open in seconds.

What you sign off on screen is not what prints

Uncalibrated monitors and unmanaged ICC profiles end in colour disputes and reprints. We manage the chain end to end: calibrated displays, the right Fogra profiles for the stock, and presses that hold the numbers.

One dead drive from losing ten years of work

Archives on ageing drives with no tested backup are how studios lose their history. We separate working storage from archive, back both up properly, and test the restore, so “can you pull the 2019 campaign?” has a happy answer.

Freelancers come and go, access lingers

Contractors keep server logins, cloud links and licence seats long after the job ends, and client NDAs increasingly demand you prove otherwise. We make access expire with the contract and keep audit trails for embargoed work.

Licences nobody can account for

Adobe seats on personal cards, fonts of unknown provenance on every Mac, and foundries actively enforcing. We centralise Creative Cloud through the Admin Console and put font licensing on a defensible footing.

How we help

Tailored to publishing & creative

Production & colour print

Canon production devices and colour management for output you can trust, every time.

Performance IT

Fast workstations, networks and storage tuned for large files and demanding creative workflows.

Reliable storage & backup

Capacity for big assets, with secure backup so work is never lost.

Security without friction

Protection that safeguards your IP and client work without getting in the way of creativity.

Compliance

Standards your clients and printers recognise

Creative work is judged against published standards, colour and security alike. We run the certifications and controls that let you say yes to demanding clients.

Fogra PSD, grade A

Canon’s imagePRESS V series holds Fogra Process Standard Digital certification at the highest grade, with inline spectrophotometers keeping colour consistent from sheet one to sheet ten thousand.

ISO 12647 colour workflows

Proofing and production aligned to the profiles your printers expect, Fogra51 for coated stock, Fogra52 uncoated, so sign-off travels intact from screen to press.

PDF/X preflight

Files that arrive at any press, ours or anyone’s, print-ready: fonts embedded, colour intent declared, surprises removed before they cost a run.

Client security questionnaires

Cyber Essentials and ISO 27001 answer most procurement and NDA baselines, with MFA, expiring freelancer access and audit trails behind them.

Protected pre-release content

Embargoed launches and client campaigns kept off attackers’ hands with encrypted storage, controlled access and isolated, tested backups.

FAQs

Publishing & Creative, your questions answered

Can you actually support our Macs, or will you push us to Windows?

We support Macs natively, not grudgingly. Machines are enrolled zero-touch through Apple Business Manager and managed with MDM, so they arrive configured, patched and encrypted, and mixed Mac and Windows estates are normal across our client base. Nobody will suggest you switch.

Our file server is too slow for large artwork and video. What is the fix?

Usually tiered storage: fast NAS or server storage with SSD caching on a 10GbE backbone for live projects, cloud collaboration for remote staff and freelancers, and a separate, properly backed-up archive. The aim is that a two-gigabyte layered PSD opens in seconds, even on deadline day.

What does colour-managed printing actually get us?

Predictability. Calibrated monitors, correct ICC profiles for the stock and a certified press mean what is signed off on screen matches the sheet. Our Canon imagePRESS presses hold Fogra PSD grade A certification and correct colour inline during the run, so short-run digital genuinely stands up to offset expectations.

A client NDA requires us to prove pre-release material is protected. What do we need?

Named-user access with MFA, permissions that expire when a freelancer’s contract does, encrypted storage and transfer, audit trails of who touched which assets, and isolated tested backups so ransomware cannot take the archive hostage. Cyber Essentials covers most questionnaire baselines, and we can take you further where clients demand it.

Can you bring our production print in-house?

Often, yes, and the economics have moved in your favour: short-run digital and print-on-demand keep improving. We compare your outsourced spend against running the right imagePRESS or varioPRINT device in-house, honestly, and support the whole installation with our own engineers if it stacks up.

Can you sort out our Adobe and font licensing?

Yes. We move Creative Cloud onto a teams plan managed through the Admin Console, so seats reassign when people leave instead of being repurchased, and we put font usage on licensed, auditable ground before a foundry’s enforcement letter arrives.
