Built by attackers, for defenders
Huntress was founded in 2015 by former NSA cyber operators who saw that small and medium businesses were being targeted with enterprise-grade attacks while running consumer-grade defences. Today the platform protects more than 5 million endpoints and 13 million identities across some 264,000 businesses, and Huntress is an authorised CVE Numbering Authority, a mark of how seriously its threat research is taken.
Humans behind the software
The platform pairs endpoint detection, Microsoft 365 identity monitoring and managed SIEM with a 24/7 human-led security operations centre that investigates and contains threats rather than just forwarding alerts. It was named Best Managed Detection and Response Security Service in the 2026 SC Awards.
Why we chose it
Huntress’s own 2026 threat report, drawn from millions of protected endpoints, shows attackers abusing legitimate remote-access tools and hijacking identities rather than dropping obvious malware. Catching that requires humans watching behaviour around the clock, which is precisely what this partnership gives every device and account we manage.
The services this powers
Huntress, your questions answered
Is Huntress just another antivirus?
No. Antivirus blocks known malware files; Huntress watches behaviour across endpoints and Microsoft 365 identities and puts a 24/7 human SOC behind every alert. Analysts investigate, contain and give plain-English remediation steps, which is why it catches the attacks that slip past traditional tools.
Does Huntress protect Microsoft 365 accounts?
Yes. Its identity threat detection monitors Microsoft 365 for suspicious sign-ins, malicious inbox rules and session hijacking, the techniques behind most modern business email compromise, and now protects over 10 million Microsoft 365 identities worldwide.
What happens when Huntress finds something at 3am?
The SOC investigates immediately and can isolate the affected device on the spot to stop spread. Our engineers then remediate and restore, and you get a clear account of what happened. The attacker does not wait for office hours, so neither does the response.
