About uniFLOW Online

uniFLOW Online is developed by NT-ware, a wholly Canon-owned software company, and was one of the world’s first fully cloud print management platforms when it launched in 2016. Built serverless on Microsoft Azure, it now manages printing and scanning on more than 400,000 devices worldwide, with around 1.5 million users across 20,000 customer organisations.

Independently rated, year after year

Keypoint Intelligence, the independent print industry test lab, has given uniFLOW Online its BLI PICK award for outstanding cloud output management for eight consecutive years. NT-ware achieved SOC 2 Type 2 certification in 2025, and the platform is designed to run in zero-trust network environments, which is exactly how modern security policies want print to behave.

How we deploy it

We use uniFLOW Online to give clients secure print release, scan workflows straight into SharePoint, OneDrive and other cloud destinations, and per-user cost visibility, all without a print server to buy, patch or back up. It supports mixed fleets, so it works even where not every device is a Canon.

FAQs

uniFLOW Online, your questions answered

Do we need a print server for uniFLOW Online?

No. uniFLOW Online is fully cloud-based, built serverless on Microsoft Azure, so there is no on-premise print server to buy, maintain, patch or back up. Jobs are held securely in the cloud until users release them at a device.

Does uniFLOW Online only work with Canon printers?

No. It is developed by a Canon-owned company and integrates most deeply with Canon devices, but it supports multi-vendor fleets, so a mixed estate can still be secured and reported on as one environment.

Is cloud print management secure?

Yes, demonstrably. uniFLOW Online is designed to operate in zero-trust network environments, NT-ware holds SOC 2 Type 2 certification, and print jobs are only released when the user authenticates at the device, which closes the most common print data leak: documents sitting in output trays.
