Three decades guarding the network edge

SonicWall has been building firewalls since 1991 and now protects more than 500,000 customers across 215 countries and territories. The company is deliberately focused on the MSP model, which means its platform is designed to be deployed, monitored and managed by partners like us rather than left to fend for itself in a comms cupboard.

A current platform, not legacy kit

SonicWall’s Generation 8 platform launched in 2025, refreshing the TZ series we deploy for small business and branch offices and the NSa series for larger networks, with cloud-native unified management and zero-trust network access built in. Managed SonicWall firewalls can also carry an embedded cyber warranty of up to $200,000, a sign of how much confidence sits behind the platform.

Why a managed firewall matters

SonicWall’s 2026 research logged over 13 billion high and medium-severity attack attempts and found that 88% of SMB breaches in 2025 involved ransomware. A firewall only earns its keep when it is patched, tuned and watched. Ours are monitored around the clock as part of your wider security service.

FAQs

SonicWall, your questions answered

What is a next-generation firewall?

A next-generation firewall goes beyond blocking ports: it inspects the content of traffic, prevents intrusions, filters malicious websites and applications, and stops threats hidden inside encrypted connections. It is the difference between a locked door and a manned checkpoint.

Which SonicWall model does our business need?

For most smaller offices and branch sites, the TZ series provides enterprise-grade protection in a right-sized platform. Larger sites and higher throughput needs move up to the NSa series. We size the firewall from your real user counts, connection speed and traffic profile, not from a price list.

Does a firewall cover our remote workers too?

Yes. We configure secure remote access through VPN and, on the current platform, zero-trust network access, so staff working from home reach company systems through the same inspected, controlled gateway as staff in the office.

Why does the firewall need managing?

Threats change weekly and so do the signatures, firmware and rules that stop them. An unmanaged firewall quietly falls behind. Ours are updated, monitored and reviewed continuously, and firewall configuration is one of the first things we check in a security audit.
